DAILYTRUST.COM — Simbi Wabote, celebrated civil engineer and former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has carved a remarkable legacy as a visionary leader in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. Appointed in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari, Wabote brought to the role decades of experience from Shell, where he led the development and implementation of local content strategies across multiple countries, including Nigeria, Gabon, Oman, and Australia.


Born on February 2, 1966, and hailing from Bayelsa State, Wabote’s leadership has been marked by transformational progress—from infrastructure development and workforce capacity-building to policy frameworks that have shaped the trajectory of Nigerian content development. A product of Rivers State University of Science and Technology and Leeds Metropolitan University, he is widely recognized for his technical rigor and commitment to national growth.
